Business, Background & Objectives
Following successful interventions with senior managers in the UK, Cape plc’s Group HR Director sought support from Primeast to research, design and facilitate a two-day global conference in Perth, Australia for the board of directors, advisors to the business, senior management team and other selected managers from local business units. The objectives were as follows:
- To explain the overall group strategy and gain senior management buy-in
- Have a set of clear actions/plans within timescales that achieves the strategy, including dealing with blockages
- Provide delegates with an opportunity to present strategies for growth in their own business; share their ideas on how to leverage strengths across the group and how to share best practice and knowledge
- Celebrate successes; creating a sense of excitement about the future and a positive acceptance of change
- Provide an opportunity to further develop delegates’ understanding of the senior leadership styles, values and competencies that supports the achievement of the strategy
- Have a good understanding on how Cape compares against competitors and have agreed actions to close gaps
Our role
Primeast facilitators held several focus sessions with the Chief Executive and members of the senior management team. They also prepared and supported those that had key input to the conference, ensuring that a consistent theme and style supported delivery of the given objectives. At the conference in Perth, the same facilitators (from Europe and Asia), worked with presenters and participants to ensure upbeat and positive engagement throughout.
Results
Primeast has been commended by Cape for facilitating their “best ever conference” and for delivering in full the agreed objectives.
Following the conference, it was agreed that Primeast should continue to offer global facilitation services to support the delivery of strategic commitments, using Primeast’s PrimeFocus and Talent Liberation methodologies under the banner of CAPEability as previously delivered in UK.
