Experienced, Engaging and Energised

Primeast’s goal is to enable our clients to get the results they need for success. From the outset, using our proprietary ELAS™ consulting framework, we work with you to establish what a successful outcome looks like and the related metrics. We then focus on creating learning experiences that develop both the mindset and the practice of the people involved, either as intact groups in an organisational development scenario, or by creating a learning curriculum relevant to the learners’ reality as well as the strategic objective.

Depending on your need, our blended learning experiences will have a mix of face-to-face and virtual elements. In our experience the appropriate environment is all-important when it comes to connecting with the dynamics of real-life challenges and enabling personal change. This means that we often work in a range of locations – training venues, workplaces, art galleries, museums, universities and the ‘Great Outdoors’.

Underpinning our approach is the use of a mix of cutting-edge and proven experiential development techniques designed to create an engaging and energising environment. This in turn enables learners to develop their self-awareness by reflecting on the activity-based learning by linking it to their beliefs, assumptions and current practice.  Accordingly, we encourage participants to build trust through vulnerability and openness, sharing and listening, and challenging and testing.

The development of our approach

Although we don’t really shout about it, Primeast was a pioneer in corporate experiential learning and one of only a small handful of international service companies to adopt and be awarded the ISO9001:1998 accreditation for management development. From early on, we have worked with several international household names such as Unilever, Esso and SC Johnson to develop managers using innovative methods and testing environments. Those testing environments ranged from 5 day, 24 hours a day, real-time, values-based simulations working with remote communities; to high-pressure leadership decision-making exercises in physically challenging circumstances.

Despite the passage of time many of our focuses back then are still 100% relevant today; self-awareness, courageous authenticity, systems thinking, building productive and meaningful relationships; and critical thinking and decision making.

Today, we continue to employ principles and practices that were developed during those formative years and continue to blend them with ever-growing client and industry experience, cutting edge thinking and academic rigour. Evidence of this can be found in our recent projects where we have created thought-provoking and energising immersive leadership development experiences for:

  • junior leaders from the energy industry in the forests of the Czech Republic
  • senior leaders from YouTube and Google gTech in places like Sao Pãolo, Hong Kong and New Orleans, (read the case study here)
  • employees of the British Council and Standard Bank in West and Southern Africa.

Primeast’s long experience has allowed us to define a pattern of how we can most effectively work with our clients to achieve success. This pattern forms the basis of our consulting model, ELAS™. Working in this way throughout the relationship – from contracting stage, through design, delivery and maintenance of results – ensures that a robust way of working is followed and embedded.

We work closely with you right from the start as we get to know you and your world; to define your organisational needs, to be sure we’re helping solve the real problem.

Modern organisations cannot waste time on straightforward knowledge acquisition – there are many opportunities for people to do this online, at a time to suit them. We will work with your learners and with their learning styles in mind, using a mix of experiential and blended learning techniques to understand their issues and help them to add value back in the workplace.

Working in an experiential learning environment, we make clear connections between the learner, real-world processes, business objectives, processes and systems they work within. In providing them with the ability to make an immediate impact, we help your learners identify and agree actions which will add measurable value to your bottom line.

Some studies show that only 30% of the learning made during workplace training gets implemented. Our job is to enable you and your learners raise this bar considerably, not just by exciting learners to enable lifelong learning, but through coaching, follow-up and measurement.

Quality-assured service

Quality is a fundamental requirement of our clients.  Our ISO 9001:2008 QAIC/UK/511 accreditation for the design and provision of management and organisation development programmes is a key factor in assuring consistent service.  Primeast was the first UK management training company to achieve accreditation for ‘the design and delivery of learning interventions’ over 15 years ago. To find out more about the worldwide impact of ISO 9000 standards, see this video from the International Organization for Standardization.

This has been the best course ever: it has only been a few weeks but the impact it has had on me and my team has been massive. We are all bought in to the new way of working, the team are empowered and taking on new work, and I have time in my diary to be able to coach, train and help new starters.
